It is also said that fashion comes full circle, as we can see in the example of the return of 90s fashion, vintage interiors or flared trousers. It is no wonder that trends in naming also come back after years.
Although floral names for girls may be associated with the past, research by the Euroflorist florist shows that being inspired by the names of flowers and plants when choosing a name for a child is fashionable again.
Analyzing the most popular names of the last decade, we discovered that floral names - especially for girls - have been gaining increasing popularity in Poland over the last 10 years.
If this trend continues, we predict that the following floral names will be the most frequently given in 2025:

Laura – +633% increase
Jasmina – +198% increase
Rozalia – +124% increase
Róża – +117% increase
Lilianna / Liliana – +92% increase
Lila – +64% increase
Lilia – +60% increase
Oliwia – +57% increase
Melisa – +37% increase
Dalia – +22% increase
Laura
According to our research, Laura will be the most popular flower name in 2025. Its popularity has increased by an average of 633% over the past 10 years.
Laura comes from Latin and refers to the laurel plant, which in ancient Greece symbolized victory. That is why the name Laura is often associated with strength, wisdom, and success. Giving a girl this name in 2025 is a desire to ensure success for life.
Jasmine
The second name to gain popularity in 2025 is Jasmine. This name with Persian roots means "gift from God". It is related to jasmine, a flower that symbolizes purity and innocence.
Our analysis shows that Jasmine's popularity has increased by 198% in the last decade. This increase may be related to the premiere of the popular Netflix series "The Big Water" in October 2022, in which the main character is a strong Jasmine.
Rose, Lily and Dahlia
Other flower names that will continue to gain popularity in 2025 are Rose, Lily and Dahlia.
- Rose is up 117%. This Latin name means a flower that is a universal symbol of love and passion
- Lily, with Latin roots, is up 60%. It symbolizes purity and innocence, and parents can choose from a variety of spellings, such as Lily or Lillie
- Dalia, which has seen a 22% increase in popularity, has Hebrew and Arabic roots and simply means “flower.”
Flower names only for girls? Surprisingly — no! While most flower and plant names are names for girls, there is also a male name that has seen a significant increase in popularity....
That name is Florian. The popularity of this name has increased by 59% over the past decade. Florian comes from the German form of the Latin name "Florentius", meaning "blossoming" or "blossoming". It is a perfect name for boys, reminding us of the importance of development at every stage of life.
It is also worth mentioning the name Oliwier, whose popularity has increased by 11%. Oliwier comes from the Polish language and refers to the olive tree. In the English version, the name is written as Oliver.
Given the growing popularity of Florian and Oliwier, we can expect that other, previously rare flower names for boys, such as Hortensjusz and Wawrzyniec, may also see a slight increase in popularity in the coming years.
To conduct the analysis, Euroflorist compared the popularity rankings of names in Poland over the last 10 years. Names with a floral/plant theme were selected and the average percentage increase in their popularity from 2013 to 2023 was calculated to predict trends for 2025.
