Why November 25?

November 25th is Katarzynki – a Polish custom that is the equivalent of St. Andrew's Day, during which matrimonial fortune-telling was held for young men. Saint Catherine is the patron saint of bachelors who wish to enter into a happy marriage. Katarzynki was celebrated on the night of November 24th/25th, the eve of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
